Loki joins forces with Bart Simpson to fight against his toughest opponents in Springfield after he is banished from Asgard yet again.The Simpsons has been referencing and lampooning pop culture in countless ways over the decades, with the growing popularity of superhero movies allowing them to embrace cameos from what would have previously been obscure figures, including multiple appearances by Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee. When it came time to craft the all-new Marvel-themed short The Good, The Bart, and The Loki, showrunner Al Jean had toyed with the idea of using audio captured from Lee during a previous recording session to include an homage to Lee and his many Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances, though Marvel Studios noted that, in the wake of his passing, he won't have any future cameos, even in animated form. The Good, The Bart, and The Loki is now streaming on Disney+.
Odin banishes Loki to Springfield, where he lands at the Simpson’s home. Bart Simpson welcomes him inside, and while at dinner, Loki banishes Lisa Simpson to Asgard. There, Lisa comes across Mjolnir, granting her to powers of Thor. Lisa returns to Springfield with the “Springfield Avengers” (other citizens dressed as various Marvel Cinematic Universe characters) to exile Loki, who has since switched guises with Bart. Later that night, while in Bart’s room, Loki is happy to finally be part of a functional family.
In a mid-credits scene, Loki disguised as Moe Szyslak gives patrons at Moe’s Tavern free drinks. In two post-credits scenes, Ralph Wiggum as the Hulk smashes Loki similarly to a scene from The Avengers (2012), and Loki stands before Ravonna Renslayer at the Time Variance Authority, where she finds him guilty of his various crimes, such as crossing over to the Simpsons universe.
The Simpsons: The Good, the Bart, and the Loki (2021) Full Movie Review:
I’ve just been absolutely sickened at what I had just seen for the past couple hours (as of typing this). The bit that got me mad was how Loki manipulated Bart and, as a result, Lisa had thrown the real Bart off somewhere (I haven’t been able to figure out where) and nobody even cared! Even in the next scene where Homer notices that the person in Bart’s room was Loki, he didn’t care or nothing. And to add insult to injury, in the credits sequence, Bart is, quite obviously, nowhere to be seen in the artwork!
By the way, this isn’t even the first time something like this would happen to Bart. But the fact that it happened here aswell is just distressing to my mental health. Why the hell do they make Bart go through so much torture like that?! I’m sorry, but for this reason, I cannot rate this any higher than 1 star.
I am honestly getting sick and tired of having to watch so many episodes of Bart being tortured like this (with the current latest Treehouse of Horror being a perfect example). Any more stuff like this in season 33 and I’m honestly going to kiss this show goodbye. I’m not sticking around to watch more of Bart being used as a punching bag.
